Spatial-Temporal Dynamics of Anthropogenic Nitrogen Inputs in the Rapid Developing Chaohu Lake Basin

چکیده

Due to the agricultural and industrial activities in rapidly urbanized basins, nitrogen (N) inputs have increased significantly, causing a variety of environmental issues. These challenges require an accurate assessment contributions driving factors, particularly Chaohu Lake Basin, which faces double pressures urban expansion production. The research shows: (1) From 1990 2018, trajectory net anthropogenic N (NANI) exhibited three-stage pattern (uptrend stage, fluctuation downtrend stage), with average value 13,482 kg km−2 year−1. primary source was fertilizer application, made up approximately 79% NANI. Human food animal feed imports, biological fixation, atmospheric deposition composed 8%, 6%, respectively. (2) Rapid urbanization enhanced NANI short time stage. However, long-term analysis had shown declining trend inputs, indicating that could improve efficiency introduce cleaner energy sources. (3) watersheds were estimated at 20,700 year−1, 3.4 times higher than watersheds. Fertilizer application used watersheds, as well human imports. Urbanization drove input mainly but no influence mixed Since basins main it crucial support management efforts reduce pollution.

Levels, Temporal-Spatial Variations, and Sources of Organochlorine Pesticides in Ambient Air of Lake Chaohu, China

The residual levels of OCPs in the gas phase and particle phase in Lake Chaohu, China, were measured using GC-MS from March 2010 to February 2011. The temporal-spatial variations and sources of OCPs were also analyzed. Twenty types of OCPs were detected in the gas phase with a total concentration of 484.8 ± 550.4 pg/m³. Endosulfan, DDTs and chlordane were the primary OCPs in the gas phase. The ...

Modeling Past Episodes of Erosion in the Lake Orūmiye (Urmia) Basin: Analogues for Future Landscape Dynamics

During the Holocene Lake Orūmiye has been subjected to significant changes in climate. These have impacted the surround vegetation and runoff, and erosion rates of the surrounding basin. Shifts in seasonal rainfall from winter to summer dominated patterns have resulted in dramatic changes in the Orūmiye Basin’s vegetation cover from grass to shrub dominated communities. The degree of ground sur...
